WELCOME TO THE BIRTH VERSE
Where you’re the author of your own birth story
Each birth tells the story of the human family—one pregnancy, one labor, one arrival at a time. Your birth experience is a one-of-a-kind moment of transformation. It’s more than a medical event to be managed. I believe everyone deserves compassionate support, witnessing, and care through this journey. I believe we change the world the more we understand, respect, celebrate, and protect birth.
In The Birth Verse, I offer my hands, heart, and art as we travel through this portal together.
Hi sweet soul
My name’s Kira, and I’m a full spectrum doula serving families in central Missouri and beyond.
I like to say I wrote my way into birth work. I’ve always been drawn to women’s stories and women’s wisdom, writing poetry that explores our rites of passage—from menstruation to motherhood. The more I wrote, the more I wanted to immerse myself in birth work, using everything I’ve been given: my hands, my heart, and my art.
In 2024, I attended my first birth and I heard my calling, loud and clear. Since then, I’ve been gathering tools, knowledge, and experience to serve families well. I’ve certified as a trained doula, deepened my study of physiology, and listened to people sharing their full spectrum of reproductive experiences.
I'm here to walk beside you, support you every step of the way, remind you of your power, and honor the story you're writing.

I love birth work because birth is full of contradictions, and I love contradictions. Birth is intense yet tender. Ordinary yet profound. Raw and primal yet emotional and moving. It’s a bridge between our animal bodies and our spiritual selves. Birth exists at the crossroads of body and spirit, mystery and science. At the center of this experience, is you—the one giving birth, and you—the one being born. I’m a loving yet fierce advocate for your choice, your voice, and your power in the birth space.
