WELCOME TO THE BIRTH VERSE

Where you can write your birth story with trust and confidence

Every birth is its own life-changing story. Your birth experience is a one-of-a-kind moment of transformation. It’s more than a medical event to be managed. No matter what your journey looks like, you deserve compassionate support, sacred witnessing, and personalized care every step of the way.

Meet Your Doula

Hi love! My name’s Kira, and I’m a holistic, heart-centered doula serving families in central Missouri and beyond. I believe pregnancy, birth, and parenthood are beautiful, emotional rites of passage and deserve more than clinical care. I’m here to care for you in the ways that count: truly getting to know you, investing in our relationship, listening to your fears and anxieties, and always pointing you back to your strength, your faith, and your love. It’s the greatest honor to journey alongside you as your life changes forever, and it’s my goal to bring more warmth, enthusiasm, encouragement, and presence into these tender times when families need the most support.

  • I love birth work because birth is full of contradictions, and I love contradictions. Birth is intense yet tender. Ordinary yet profound. Raw and primal yet emotional and moving. It’s a bridge between our animal bodies and our spiritual selves. Birth exists at the crossroads of body and spirit, mystery and science. At the center of this experience, is you—the one giving birth, and you—the one being born. I’m a gentle yet strong advocate for your choice, your voice, and your dignity in the birth space.

What does a doula do?

A doula is a birth coach. Doulas are trained non-medical professionals who provide continuous emotional, physical, educational, and spiritual support throughout pregnancy and birth.

What does a full spectrum doula do?

A full spectrum doula offers care and support through the full spectrum of reproductive experiences. From fertility to infertility, from pregnancy to birth, from postpartum to loss, a full spectrum doula is a companion and guide for your unique journey in The Birth Verse.

What doesn’t a doula do?

A doula does not make choices for you and your birth. A doula isn’t there to replace your partner, your family, or your own intuition. A doula doesn’t make any diagnoses or do anything medical.

  • Compassionate guidance as your body and heart expand. From navigating choices and preparing for birth to honoring the profound transformation already unfolding within you.

  • Continuous presence through labor and delivery. Offering comfort measures, advocacy, and steady witness as you cross the threshold into parenthood.

  • Nurturing care for the tender fourth trimester. Practical help with newborn care, feeding support, and emotional grounding as your family finds its new rhythm.

  • Gentle companionship through pregnancy loss and infant death. Holding space for grief, honoring your baby's brief but meaningful existence, and supporting your healing journey.

  • Bearing witness to your experience and helping you process, integrate, and preserve your birth story. Because how we tell our stories shapes how we carry them forward.
