Please read these Terms and Conditions carefully before booking services with The Birth Verse. By engaging our services, scheduling a consultation, or signing a service agreement, you agree to be bound by these terms.
1. Services Provided
The Birth Verse, operated by Kira Gresoski, offers non-medical doula services including:
Birth doula support (prenatal visits, on-call labor and birth support, immediate postpartum care)
Postpartum doula support and home visits
Nesting sessions (meal preparation and nursery preparation)
Birth story sessions (empathetic interview and original poem creation)
Postpartum group support
Bereavement doula support
All services are non-medical in nature. A doula does not provide medical advice, diagnose conditions, perform clinical procedures, or replace the care of a licensed healthcare provider.
2. No Client-Provider Relationship from Website Content
The information, journal posts, articles, FAQs, and any other content published on thebirthverse.com are provided for general informational and educational purposes only. Engaging with this content — including reading, sharing, or commenting on it — does not establish a client-provider relationship between you and The Birth Verse or Kira Gresoski.
A formal client-provider relationship is only established upon the execution of a signed service agreement and receipt of the required deposit. Until both conditions are met, no professional obligations, duties of care, or service commitments exist between the parties.
Nothing on this website should be construed as personalized doula advice, medical guidance, or a recommendation specific to your pregnancy, birth, or postpartum situation. Always consult with your licensed healthcare provider for medical decisions.
3. Scope of Practice
The Birth Verse provides emotional, physical, and educational support. Kira Gresoski is a trained doula and is not a licensed medical professional. Nothing shared in the course of our work together should be interpreted as medical advice. Clients are encouraged to maintain an ongoing relationship with their OB, midwife, or other licensed care providers throughout pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum period.
4. Service Agreement & Booking
Services are confirmed upon receipt of a signed service agreement and the required deposit. Until both are received, no date or availability is reserved. By signing your service agreement, you acknowledge that you have read and agree to these Terms and Conditions.
5. Fees & Payment
Current pricing is listed at thebirthverse.com/birth-doula. Payment terms are as follows:
A 50% non-refundable deposit is due at the time of signing to reserve your spot.
The remaining balance is due at 37 weeks gestation.
Accepted payment methods will be outlined in your service agreement.
Packages may be customized by mutual agreement. Any modifications to scope or pricing will be documented in writing.
6. Cancellation & Refund Policy
Because The Birth Verse accepts a limited number of clients per month to ensure full presence and care, the following cancellation policy applies:
The deposit is non-refundable in all circumstances.
If a client cancels after the remaining balance has been paid, a partial refund may be issued at the discretion of The Birth Verse, less the deposit and any hours already rendered.
If Kira is unable to attend your birth due to a medical emergency or other unforeseen circumstance, a backup doula will be arranged whenever possible, or a prorated refund will be issued for unrendered services.
In the event of pregnancy loss or medical emergency on the part of the client, we will work compassionately to find an appropriate resolution.
7. On-Call Availability
On-call birth support begins at 37 weeks gestation and continues until the birth of your baby. During the on-call period, Kira will make every reasonable effort to be available and to attend your birth. In rare circumstances —such as simultaneous labors or a personal emergency —a trusted backup doula may be called upon. You will be notified of backup arrangements in advance whenever possible.
8. Confidentiality
The Birth Verse is committed to protecting the privacy and dignity of every client. Personal information, birth details, and any information shared during our work together will not be disclosed to third parties without your explicit written consent, except as required by law.
Birth stories, photos, and testimonials will only be shared publicly with your written permission.
9. Photography & Media
Kira may take notes during services for personal use or record-keeping only. Kira will only take photos during services if this is something you’ve requested during consultations. Any use of images or birth stories for marketing, social media, or other public purposes requires your separate written consent.
10. Limitation of Liability
The Birth Verse and Kira Gresoski are not liable for any medical outcomes, decisions made by healthcare providers, or complications arising during pregnancy, labor, birth, or the postpartum period. Doula support is complementary to, and not a replacement for, professional medical care. Clients assume full responsibility for their own medical decisions and outcomes.
In no event shall The Birth Verse's total liability exceed the fees paid by the client for the specific service giving rise to the claim.
11. Governing Law
These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of the State of Missouri. Any disputes arising from these terms or your service agreement shall be resolved in the courts of California, Missouri, or the county in which services were rendered.
12. Changes to These Terms
The Birth Verse reserves the right to update these Terms and Conditions at any time. Updated terms will be posted at thebirthverse.com. Your continued engagement of services following any update constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms.
